Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
When you arrive in Kigali, you will be greeted by a business representative and driven to the city centre, where you will begin on a city tour that includes visits to Kimironko market and the Gisozi genocide memorial site. You will check into your hotel for supper and an overnight stay.
Accommodation: Steptown Hotel
Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
After breakfast at your Kigali hotel, you will go off to visit Volcanoes National Park.
Have lunch and then go to Musanze, the nearest town to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda’s northern region. Dinner and stay at the Muhabura Hotel.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
You will have an early breakfast and then transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch and bottled water for a 7:00 a.m. briefing by the park ranger guides. Following the briefing, you will begin your gorilla trekking expedition, escorted by ranger guides, in search of mountain gorillas, which will take 2 to 8 hours depending on the gorillas’ movements.
However, the guides will attempt to locate them based on where they were last spotted the day before! You will spend an hour with these gentle giants before returning to your lodge to recharge and rest. In the evening, you can participate in an optional community tour of Ruhengeri to learn about Rwandan culture. Dinner and overnight stay at the Muhabura Hotel
Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe, canopy walk.
Breakfast will be given early, followed by a trip to Nyungwe Forest National Park, with lunch en route. You will also go on a canopy walk and experience views of the rainforest from a swing bridge. After the canopy walk, you’ll return to your lodge.
Dinner and overnight stay at the Gisakura Visitor Centre.
Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking.
Enjoy breakfast and attend a briefing before entering the forest to look for lively and playful companions in Nyungwe forest. Chimpanzees are simple to detect because they hop from one tree to another while talking and laughing. Chimp tracking typically takes roughly three hours. You will then return to Kigali, stopping for lunch along way. Your guide will transport you to your accommodation for supper and sleep at the Gisakura Visitor Centre.
Day 6: Flight to Tanzania
After breakfast at your resort, you’ll travel to Kigali for your trip to Arusha. Your guide in Arusha will greet you, brief you on your safari, and transport you to the Runako Lodge for supper and overnight stay.
Day 7: Transfer to Tarangire national park, Game Drive
After breakfast, you will continue your trip to Tarangire National Park, where you will begin your wildlife viewing adventures in Tanzania. After settling into your accommodation in the national park, you will prepare to have lunch before venturing out into the wilderness.
During your game drive, you will see various wildlife species grazing and roaming in the national park, including lions, giraffes, antelopes, lions, leopards, buffalos, wildebeests, elands, elephants, cheetahs, impalas, and a variety of bird species, particularly in the Tarangire National Park. While you enjoy the sunset and beauty, your guide will take you back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Tarangire Roika Lodge.
Day 8: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park, Guided Walking Safari
Breakfast will be served at your accommodation in Tarangire National Park before you check out and continue on to Lake Manyara National Park. After lunch, you will go on a game drive in this national park to look for elephants, gazelles, buffalos, hippos, antelopes, waterbucks, hartebeests, warthogs, hyenas, giraffes, elands, and impalas, among others. You will also encounter a variety of bird species during your game drive at Lake Manyara National Park. Following your game drive, you will return to Twiga Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 9: Drive to Serengeti national park
You will enjoy an early breakfast at your lodge before your transportation to Serengeti National Park. During your en route game drive over the vast savannah plains to your resort, you will encounter a variety of animal species. You’ll eat lunch at your lodge before heading out for an afternoon wildlife drive.

During your game drive in the national park, you will be treated to breathtaking landscape, including kopjes where lions may be spotted watching their prey. During your game drive, you will witness a variety of animal species like elephants, buffalos, warthogs, hyenas, giraffes, wildebeests, antelopes, and impalas. You will go to your lodge for dinner and spend the night in one of the Osinon camps or lodges.
Day 10 and day 11; full day Serengeti national park
After an early breakfast at your lodge, your guide will take you on a morning game viewing excursion through the central Serengeti National Park, where you will look for wildlife such as lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, cheetahs, impalas, gazelles, kudu, and rhinos, among others.
After having your lunches, you will engage in an afternoon game drive around Serengeti national park as you look out for wildlife species and later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Accommodation: Osinon campgrounds and lodges.
Day 12: Drive to Ngorongoro conservation area
After breakfast at your lodge in Serengeti National Park, you will check out and travel on an en route game drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will have the option of visiting Ol Duvai Gorge, an archaeological site where Dr Mary and Louis Leakey uncovered evidence of early man and human evolution.
Your lunch will be provided before you descend to the Ngorongoro Crater to visit several sites such as Lake Magadi, which is located in the centre of the crater. As you visit the Ngorongoro Crater, you will notice a large number of flamingos around Lake Magadi’s shoreline, as well as other bird species. Elephants, buffalos, rhinos, zebras, waterbucks, antelopes, hyenas, gazelles, and kudus, as well as predators like as lions, leopards, and cheetahs, may all be seen in the crater. As you visit the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will also be treated to stunning vistas of the surrounding landscape. You will then return to your lodge for dinner and stay overnight at Eileen’s Tree Inn.
Day 13: Drive to Arusha.
After breakfast, check out of your lodge and travel to Arusha, where you will check in and have lunch.
Later, you will travel about Arusha to get to know the town and mingle with the residents, as well as see the local market, art and craft centres, and museum. Dinner and sleep will be at the Runako Lodge.
Day 14: Departure.
You will have breakfast at your accommodation before driving to the airport, where your guide will drop you off, bringing the safari to a close.
