Day 1: Pickup in Kigali and transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
The driver will pick you up from your Kigali accommodation in the morning and transport you to Nyungwe National Park, which is around 6 hours away. You will stop by the King’s Palace in Nyanza and the National Museum in Butare before heading to the park for lunch. Arrive at Nyungwe in the evening and check into your hotel to enjoy the evening at leisure. Dinner and sleep at Gisakura Visitor Centre (Budget) or Nyungwe Top Hill View Hotel (Middle Range).

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and canopy walk
Before entering the jungle in search of the lively and playful colleagues in Nyungwe forest, stop for breakfast and a briefing on endangered chimps. Chimpanzees are considerably simpler to recognise since they hop from one tree to another while chatting and laughing. Chimpanzee tracking typically takes roughly three hours. Spend an hour searching for them and photographing and filming. You’ll then return to your lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you’ll take a walking route to the Canopy Walk, a 50-meter-long swing bridge strung between enormous trees. You’ll be able to observe the magnificent jungle from above, observing wildlife as it moves about below. Before nightfall, you will return to the lodge Gisakura Visitor Centre (Budget) or Nyungwe Top Hill View Hotel (Midrange) for dinner Plan: Full Board
Day 3: Waterfall Hike & Transfer to Kigali (about 6 hour drive)
Have breakfast first thing in the morning, then travel to the park for a guided nature walk to one of the Isumo waterfalls. This is a four-hour walk to and from, during which you will observe a variety of fauna and bird species.
After your trek, enjoy lunch and then proceed to Kigali, where your driver/guide will drop you off at your preferred accommodation or Kigali International Airport, where you will take your journey home. If a city tour is not feasible on your first day, you might take a quick tour of Kigali instead.
