Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will meet your Kenya safari driver guide and, after a briefing regarding the safari, you will be transferred to Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya’s most popular and rewarding wildlife safari destination.
The trip from Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve takes roughly 4-5 hours via the Great Rift Valley region, with a halt in Narok Town (the largest Maasai town) for shopping, interacting with the locals, and, if you’re up for it, purchasing handcrafted items.
When you arrive in the Masai Mara, you will go on an en-route game drive to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will embark on a game drive in search of wildlife in the reserve’s wildness. Some of the creatures to watch out for are lions, cheetahs, leopards, African wild dogs, elephants, cape buffaloes, gazelles, giraffes, hippos, hyenas, wildebeests, and jackals, among others. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Accommodation: Mara Serena Safari Lodge.
Day 2: Full-day Game Drive in Masai Mara National Reserve.
Enjoy a healthy African breakfast before meeting your safari guide and embarking on a morning game drive through Masai Mara National Reserve’s endless savannah plains. During the game drive, you will see elephants, giraffes, hippos, wildebeests, jackals, cheetahs, lions, leopards, and many birds, among other species.
You’ll travel back to your accommodation for lunch before returning to the reserve for another adventure in the bush in search of the African Big Five and other species. You might choose a local community tour to interact with the Maasai people and have a better understanding of their native lifestyle. Dinner and overnight stay as described above.
