3 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Tour in Bwindi
Detailed itinerary.
Day One: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Depending on your location in Kampala, on the first day of the three-day Uganda gorilla trekking tour, our driving guide will pick you up, inform you about the safari, and then begin the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. On the way, you will stop for an en-route lunch before continuing your journey with stunning views of the countryside, gorgeous landscapes, Kigezi hills, terraced farmlands, plantations, and so on. When you arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you will check into the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Accommodation and meals: Buhoma Haven Lodge (mid-range) or Buhoma Community Rest Camp (cheap).
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
On the second day of your three-day Uganda gorilla trekking trip, you will pack a lunch and meet your driver guide at the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. Following the briefing, you will begin hiking into the forest, which will take between 30 minutes and 7 hours depending on where the mountain gorillas are situated. During the walk, you will be able to see additional primates, animals, many bird species, and plant and tree species, among others. Once the gorilla family has been located, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat, where you will be able to observe them performing daily activities such as feeding, breastfeeding, playing, grooming young ones, learning about their habits and behaviours, taking photos, and recording breathtaking moments.
After the one-hour encounter with the gentle giants, you will return to the starting point, where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking. You will then meet your driver guide for an optional cultural tour, during which you will be able to interact with the Batwa, learn about their culture, traditions, and way of life, visit their homesteads, listen to their ancient stories, and enjoy their traditional performances, among other activities. Following the cultural trip, you will return to the lodge for dinner and sleep.
Day 3: Departure to Kampala
On the final day of your three-day Uganda gorilla trekking tour, after a leisurely breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and meet your driver guide for the journey to Kampala. On the way, you will stop at Mbarara for lunch before continuing on to the Equator for photography and souvenir shopping. From the Equator, you will proceed to Kampala, where you will reach early evening. Upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe airport for your departure flight or drop you off at any convenient location.
