Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
Depending on your location in Kampala on the first day of the 5-day gorilla trekking and Queen Elizabeth National Park tour, you will be picked up by our driving guide, who will inform you on the safari before transporting you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. On the way, you will stop at the Equator to buy souvenirs and then again for en-route lunch before continuing your journey with stunning views of the countryside, gorgeous landscapes, Kigezi hills, terraced farmlands, plantations, and so on. Upon arriving at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you will check in at the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Bakiga Lodge (budget) or Ruhija Gorilla Mist Camp (midrange).
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
On the second day of your 5-day gorilla trekking and Queen Elizabeth National Park trip, you will leave the lodge with a packed lunch and meet your driving guide at the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla habitat rules and regulations. Following the briefing, you will begin walking into the jungle in search of mountain gorillas, with wonderful views of other primates such as l’hoest monkeys, vervet monkeys, flora, and bird species, among others. Once the gorillas are located, you will be permitted to spend one hour with them in their natural environment, where you will be able to learn more about their behaviours, observe them going about their daily routines, and take photographs and films.
After your exciting encounter with the mountain gorillas, you will return to the starting point and meet your driver guide for an optional cultural tour in which you will be able to interact with the batwa people, learn about their culture and traditions, visit their homesteads, listen to their ancient stories, and enjoy their traditional performances, among other things. After the cultural trip, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, as described above.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
On the third day of your five-day gorilla trekking and Queen Elizabeth National Park tour, you will have breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet your driver guide for the travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s second most protested region. On the route, you will stop in the Ishasha sector to see tree-climbing lions and other wildlife including as buffaloes, elephants, and Uganda kobs. You will also have en-route lunch and then travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will check into the lodge, eat dinner and spend the night at Queen Elizabeth Safari Lodge-budget/Elephant Hab-midrange.
Day 4: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
On the fourth day of your 5-day gorilla trekking and Queen Elizabeth National Park tour, you will have an early breakfast and meet with your driving guide to embark on a wildlife drive or lion tracking excursion in Kasenyi Plains. During the game drive, you can spot elephants, lions, leopards, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, buffaloes, big forest pigs, bushbucks, warthogs, and a variety of bird species. After the wildlife drive, you’ll head to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will go on an incredible boat tour down the Kazinga waterway, which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. During the boat trip, you will be able to snap stunning images, enjoy amazing views of the terrain, gorgeous scenery, animal species such as big concentrations of hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes along the river banks, aquatic birds, and so on. Following the enjoyable boat tour, you will meet your guide and be transferred to the lodge for an evening of leisure, dinner, and overnight stay, as described above.
Day 5: Depart to Kampala
On the final day of your 5-day gorilla trekking and Queen Elizabeth National Park tour, you will check out of the lodge and meet your driver guide to begin the journey back to Kampala. On the journey, you will stop for lunch before continuing on to Kampala, where your driver guide will let you off at your discretion.
