Day 1: Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park

Your Tanzania safari starts with pickup from your hotel in Arusha or at Kilimanjaro International Park by our representative, your driver-guide, and embark on a 2-hour drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Along the way you will pass through the lively Masai village, the vast open plains and the bustling market town of Mto Wa Mbu. This lively market is a mix of local cultures and offers a great opportunity for souvenir shopping.

On arrival in the park, you will embark on a game drive, discovering this photographer’s paradise with some of the best game viewing available. Keep an eye out for the famous tree-climbing lions often seen resting in the acacia trees. For birders, you will be delighted by the park’s diversity with flamingos, birds of prey, and colorful lilac-breasted rollers, among other highlights. Enjoy a picnic lunch and continue with the game drive till sunset; head to your lodge for check-in, enjoy dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will begin the scenic drive to the Serengeti National Park, passing through the misty rainforest of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Keep your eyes out for cape buffaloes, olive baboons, and even herds of elephants in the dense forests.

From Lake Manyara to Serengeti, it is a drive of 4 hours with a visit to the Olduvai Gorge Museum—Explore the Cradle of Mankind, where some of the oldest evidence of human habitation has been found—and visit a Maasai Boma, where you will interact with the locals and witness a traditional dance and browse local crafts.

After picnic lunch in the Serengeti, you will have a game drive, exploring the sweeping savannah of the Serengeti where you will witness an abundance of wildlife, including lions, leopards, giraffes, cheetahs, gazelles, elands, zebras and elephants, among others.

Day 3: Full Day Serengeti Safari

Wake up early for a game drive at sunrise and head to the park for a game drive. The early morning is the best time to see predators like leopards, lions and cheetahs as they hunt in their cooler temperatures. Also, you will witness the morning activity of herbivores like wildebeests and zebras.

Alternatively, you can opt for a sunrise hot air balloon safari, complete with a champagne breakfast. Continue exploring Serengeti National Park with a picnic lunch, offering you the best sightings of wildlife.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, you will set off towards the Ngorongoro Crater with an en route game drive in the Serengeti, offering you a second chance to spot animals you missed on your earlier drives. Keep an eye out for cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and lions, among others.

Enjoy lunch along the way, arrive in the evening, check in at your lodge and spend the rest of the day at rest or go for a guided walk along the Ngorongoro Crater rim for close encounters with several wildlife species such as giraffes, zebras and elands, among others.

Day 5: Departure

After breakfast, you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater—often referred to as the 8th Wonder of the World and the largest intact caldera in the world, home to over 210 species of mammals, including the Big Five. During the Ngorongoro Crater game drive, you will see several animals, including hippos, black rhinos, leopards, and hyenas, among others.

After a picnic lunch by the hippo pool, you will drive back to Arusha, bringing your safari to an end.
